Alice B. Davis Lillicotch, 94, of Cortland died 12:45 PM Monday April 27, 2009 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a short illness. She was born Jan.20, 1915 in Warren the daughter of Amer and Clara Belle (Gano) Cowdery. A lifetime area resident she was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and worked in the insurance Dept. at Packard Electric for 29 years retiring in May of 1977. Alice was a long time member of the Champion Presbyterian Church and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She was an avid Class "A" bowler and loved animals- volunteering for many years at the Animal Welfare League Shelter. Her first husband Merle "Dusty" Davis whom she married June 2, 1933 preceded her in death in 1971 and her second husband Albert Lillicotch whom she married in 1974 died in 1985. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be missed by her daughter Nancy A. Yartz of Tennessee, son Kenneth D. (Nancy) Davis of Cortland, 7 grandchildren; Wendy (Brian) McMahon of California, Jody Crandall of California, Amy (Joe) Scott of Tennessee, Richard C. (Courtney) Yartz of California, Candace (Howard) Wetzel, Corey Davis both of Cortland, Craig (Melissa) Davis of Austintown, 12 great grandchildren and her beloved dog Taffy. She was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Cowdery. There will be a graveside service 2:00 PM Friday May 1, 2009 at Crown Hill Burial Park. Pastor James Brandis will officiate. Roberts-Clark Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements. The family suggests material contributions be made to The Animal Welfare League 545 Brunstetter Rd. Warren, OH 44481.
