There will be a funeral service 5 PM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Alice Rose Rowbottom, age 89, who passed away Wednesday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Alice was born November 18, 1917 in Warren a daughter of the late Samuel and Amy B. Potter Wyres. She had worked for J.C. Penney’s Company in the infant’s department, was a member of the Smith Corner’s United Methodist Church where she worked in the crib room during church and Sunday school. She loved babies and the work in the crib room. She was also a member of the Dublin Grange in Canfield, and was an Air Raid Warden during WWII. Her husband David Myron Rowbottom, whom she married October 12, 1944 passed away on May 30, 2001. Alice is survived by three children: Roger M. Rowbottom of Berlin Center, Samuel David Rowbottom of Austintown, and Dorcas R. (Tom) Young of Springfield, MO; two sisters: A. Jean Cauffield of Champion and Carol J. Sandy of MA; seven grandchildren: Michael, Pamela, Samuel Jr., Georgina (Alex), Anthony (Melissa) Jason, and Alison and eight great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Alice is preceded in death by two granddaughters: Janice and Janet. Friends may call from 3 PM Until 5 PM Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
