Anna Jeanette Whitney

Anna J. Whitney of Ravenna, OH formerly of Niles, OH, died at 3:45 AM Saturday at Woodlands at Robinsons in Ravenna, OH. She was 97. Mrs. Whitney was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 4, 1908, a daughter of Tilden and Florence Slusser Adams Anna was employed at Herman’s Cleaners in Warren, OH as a seamstress for 13 years. She retired in 1966. Her husband Robert L. Whitney Sr., whom she married Dec. 21, 1929, died Dec. 16, 1983. Survivors include, 3 sons, Robert L. Whitney Jr. of Valparasio, Indiana, Clifford (Carolyn) D. Whitney of Charlotte, NC, and Frank (Therese) D. Whitney of Ravenna, OH.; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; 1 brother, Eugene Adams; 1 sister, Dorothy Powlus. A private family viewing has been scheduled. Lane Funeral Home – Niles Chapel handled the arrangements. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park.
