Arthur C. Berquist, 77 Youngstown- Services will be at 11 AM Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Arthur C. Berquist who passed away early Thursday morning at Briarfield Manor. Arthur was born December 4, 1926 in Youngstown a son of the late Arthur C. and Mary (Graham) Berquist Sr. He retired in 1992 from the Local 396 as a plumber and steamfitter after 40 years of service. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Eagles #77, and a former member of the Saxon Club. Arthur was an avid golfer and a member of the church golf league. He had served in the United States Army. Mr. Berquist is survived by three children Arthur Keith (Mary) Berquist of Austintown, Ardyth (Robert) Sommers of Salem, and Thomas (Kim) Berquist of Youngstown; one brother Alexander (Betty) Berquist of Youngstown; six grandchildren: Chris Sommers, Bryan and Victoria Berquist, Nikki, Dana, and Mary Jo Ripple; and four great grandchildren: Bryce and Dakotah Sommers, Chayne Cefalde and Desirae Ripple. He is preceded in death by his wife the former Elaine McGinnis whom he married April 14, 1950 and passed away on November 6, 1995; one sister Eleanor Hudak; one brother Gilbert Berquist, and one grandson Derek Sommers. Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM Today and 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
