Betty Jane Rupp

Betty Jane Rupp, Age 78, of Cortland passed away on Wednesday, Aug, 23rd 2017 in The Woodlands, TX. She was born Feb 7, 1939 in Rhinelander, WI to Roy and Della Karenke. Betty grew up with her brother Gene Karenke and sisters Alice Patterson and Shirley Moyer. Betty Worked at Ohio Edison and as a teacher at Maplewood High School in Cortland, Ohio. She was a longtime member of Mecca Community Church. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed spending time and doting on her grandchildren. She loved sailing and doing many outdoor activities. She was a friend to all. She married John Arthur Rupp (Deceased - 12-22-2012) on July 13, 1961. She is survived by two sons: Thomas (Corrine) Rupp of Statesville, NC and Richard (Deborah) Rupp of Middlefield, OH and a daughter Deborah (John Jr.) Blue of The Woodlands, TX. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Nichol (James, Sr.) Meehan of Gulf Breeze, FL; John "JB" (Pamela) Blue III of The Woodlands, TX; Megan and Katherine Rupp of Statesville, NC and McKinzy Rupp of Middlefield, OH; and three great grandchildren James Meehan, Jr., Skye'Lynn and Abigael Blue. The family will receive family and friends from 2-4PM Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St. in Cortland. Where the funeral service will begin at 4pm with Pastor Charles Kindle officiant. Interment in Hillside Cemetery in Cortland.
