Carl Edward Dudley, 86, of Warren, died Friday morning, January 18, 2008 in St. Joseph Health Center after an extended illness. Born October 16, 1921 in Clifton Forge, VA he was the son of the late John and Virginia (Cross) Dudley. A veteran of the United States Army, Carl served from 1942 to 1945 during WWII with the 411th Gun Battalion. He retired in 1984 from American Welding and Mfg. Co. where he worked as a roller and turn foreman for 42 years. Carl was a member of the American Legion Post 699 in Leavittsburg and was an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of the 700 Club, and had attended the North Mar CMA Church. Carl enjoyed bowling and golfing on several area leagues, playing cards and fishing. Carl will be missed by his wife of 61 years Pauline Florence (Mancini) Dudley of Warren whom married September 14, 1946, by a brother Fred Dudley of Howland Twp., a sister Sonia Willrich of Youngstown and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers; Blaine, Everett, Hubert, Delano, Paul and Jack Dudley and by three sisters; Edith Dudley, Pauline McGuire, and Louise Virginia Runyon. Calling hours will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. Pastor John Dudley will conduct a funeral service on Monday, January 18, 2008 at 11AM at the funeral home. Entombment will take place in the mausoleum at Pineview Memorial Park where full military honors will be observed.
