YOUNGSTOWN- Carl Petrella, 88, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014. He was born September 11, 1925 to the late Anthony and Lucy Petrella. Carl was a U.S. Navy veteran at Pearl Harbor during WWII. After his service Carl went on to work at U.S. Steel for 42 years before retiring. He also spent time working in maintenance at Youngstown State University. Carl was a member of the Wolves Club of Youngstown, and a member of the Italian American War Veterans. He was also the owner of the Bell Theater in Campbell, OH. Carl will always be remembered for his passion for going to flea markets and fixing and refurbishing second-hand items. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ruth (Ken) Fedders, Carl (Patricia) Petrello Jr., and Michael (Carole) Petrello; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Josephine Thomas and Betty Ann Shives. Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gladys (Ingram) Petrella; his granddaughter, Rochele Fedders; his brothers, Frank, Mike, and Paul Petrella; and his sisters, Angela Donnaromo and Phyllis Desimon. The family will receive friends from 5PM-8PM on Friday, June 13, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
