DAROLD C. ALLEN, 68 MINERAL RIDGE-There will be Services at 12 p.m. Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes-Mineral Ridge Chapel for Darold C. Allen, 68, who died Sunday evening at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Darold was born February 7, 1948 in Flint, MI, a son of William and Evelyn Maxine Thomas Allen. Darold had attended college and had attained an E.M.T. Certification. He was employed by General Motors in the Maintenance Dept. for 27 years, retiring in 1990. Darold served his country during the Vietnam War, as a member of the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. He attended Old North Church of Canfield. Darold loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed metal detecting, woodworking and also traveling and was a very talented worker with stain glass. Darold is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Marie E. Sugden, whom he married Sept. 10, 1966; his daughter, Nancy (Ronnie) Beere of Lordstown; his son, Michael (Tracy) Allen of Coitsville; his sisters, Mary Williamson of Port Clinton, Sharon (Jim) Lane of Dillon, SC and Sue (Paul) Henry of Burton, MI; eight grandchildren and two gr. grandchildren. Darold was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Terry Allen and his brother, Harold Allen. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the Service on Thursday at the funeral home.
