Elmer Kohlmorgan, age 80, of Cortland, Ohio, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at the Cortland Healthcare Center in Cortland. He was born on February 14, 1929 in Mineral Ridge, the son of the late Elmer Kohlmorgan and the late Jeanette (Parsons) Kohlmorgan. Mr. Kohlmorgan had served as a Corporal in the United States Army during WWII. Elmer owned and operated Elkson Farms where he was a dairy farmer and an active member of COBA from 1958 -1986. He enjoyed reading, but had a passion for building and flying model airplanes. He is survived by his wife Ruth E. (Stingley) Kohlmorgan, whom he married on November 8, 1950. Three sons, Dale (Carol) Kohlmorgan of Portland, IN, David (Mona) Kohlmorgan of Farmdale and Kenneth (Joyce) Kohlmorgan of Cortland; Three daughters, Evelyn Olivares of Cortland, Linda (Garry) Padula of Newton Falls and Rita (Tom) Shepherd of Warren. A sister, Jane Elston of Denver, CO., Nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one great grandson, Jonathan Kohlmorgan. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, 164 North High Street, Cortland, Ohio. Services will be at the funeral home at 11:00 AM Friday, November 17, 2006, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland, Ohio. The Family will be accepting donations on behalf of the Flying Aeros Model Airplane Club.
