Services with military honors will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Harold “Harry” J. Hott, 59, of Austintown, who passed away Friday evening at his home. Harry was born June 9, 1947 in Keyser, W. VA, the son of Floyd H. and Martha Mae (Dawson). He retired as a press operator from Zerhco Plastics in Ashtabula. Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and received 4 purple hearts among other awards during his military service. He was a member of Cortland Church of Christ. He was a life member and very active with the Disabled American Veteran’s Chapter #11 where he was Chaplin, the Purple Heart #606 the VFW Post 7200 in West Farmington, and was a member of the Memorial and Veterans Day Association in Trumbull County. Harry was also a life member of the Trumbull Rod and Gun Club and an avid rabbit hunter, raising and training beagles for over 30 years all over the U.S. and Canada. Besides his father of Keyser, Harry leaves his wife the former Linda Page whom he married June 2, 2001, three children; Roy (Trichia) Gust and Thomas Douglas Hott both of Florida, and Tina (fiancé Eric Wick) Hayslett of Niles, two sisters; Debbie Kesner and Barbara Clark both of Keyser, and eight grandchildren. Harry will also be sadly missed by his close friends; Mark and Charm Japuncha of Warren and Don and Nickie Pyle of Hubbard and special friend James Obenour, among others. Harry is preceded in death by his mother Martha. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests material tributes take the form of donations to the DAV Post #11 in Harry’s name.
