Harold M. Miller of 20 Manor Drive, Brookfield, Ohio, died Friday (4-28-06) in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh after a brief illness. He was 83. Mr. Miller was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on April 26, 1923, a son of Frederick and Flora Jean (Alderman) Miller. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1941 and went on to serve our country during WWII in the U.S. Army. After coming home from the service, Harold graduated from Thiel College and later he received his degree as an Optician from New York University. Harold was an Optician in the Medical Arts Building, Sharon, for over 28 years before his retirement. His memberships included: Brookfield United Methodist Church; Elks Club, Sharon; he was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Sharpsville Lodge, and the Zem Zem Shrine. In his spare time, Harold enjoyed RV traveling, boating, fishing, feeding & watching birds, as well as squirrels. Survivors include: 2 daughters, Nancy Rubano & her husband Richard, Sharon, and Beverly Serafin, Eastlake, OH; 2 sisters, Wilma Hager, Brookfield, and Evelyn Beach, Poland, OH; brother, Fred “Fritz” Miller, Hermitage; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Rubano, Dawn Fleming, and Kimberly Miller; and 2 great-grandchildren, Connor & Kaitlyn Harry. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Geraldine “DeDe” (Alderman) Miller, whom he married 1-17-1948, she died 1-27-1990; by his son, Perry Miller; by his granddaughter, Amy Harry; and by his brother, Ronald Miller. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, with Rev. Dennis Bewley, Pastor. Calling hours will be scheduled for Monday from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, OH.
