Harold William Watkins

Harold William "Sweat" Watkins, 62, of Warren passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 at his home. Born February 7, 1949 in Warren, he was the son of the late Harold and Veronica (Krol) Watkins. "Sweat", as he was known by his friends and colleagues, was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served our country as a sharpshooter during the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors where he worked as an assembler for 30 years. Bill was a Life member of the VFW Post 1090 and held the office of Sky Pilot through the Military Order of The Cootie of The United States. He was a dedicated volunteer of his time and efforts to help military veterans. "Sweat" enjoyed hunting, fishing and music, especially classic rock. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Cox) Watkins of Warren whom he married June 13, 1990, a son, David (Wendy Bergmark) Sanchez of Pittsburgh, PA and Two grandchildren, Zoe and Rezon Sanchez also of Pittsburgh, PA. A private funeral service and military honors will be held at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
