John Lesko, Sr., age 70, of Ellsworth Twp., Ohio, died on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 1:05 AM at the Hospice House in Poland. He was born on May 16, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late George and Julia Lesko. John was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Church in Youngstown; he was a graduate of Mooney High School and John obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Youngstown College. While in high school and college he played the clarinet and played in the bands. He was an honorably discharged US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. John was a retired foreman from Packard Electric in 1989 after 20 years of service. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, and anything to do with the military. He was a benefactor member of the NRA. John was known as "Caddyman" to some of his friends, as he owned a lot of Cadillacs. His real passion was being with his family. Survivors include his wife, the former Elaine Griffin, whom he married on June 6, 1970; his children, John (Jennifer) Lesko, II of Salem, Kimberly (Brian) LaFleme of Streetsboro, and Amanda (Stewart Schlag) Davis of Asheville, NC; three grandchildren, Amaris LaFleme, Zander Lesko, and Muirin Lesko. His father-in-law, Laurel C. Griffin of Orwell, and one sister also survives, Helen (John) Hirt of Ellsworth Twp. Other than his parents, John was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Doris Shivers Griffin. Funeral services will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes-Canfield Chapel at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 22, 2015, where family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrot Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
