Leroy Phillabaum

A memorial service will be held at 7 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Leroy "Bud" Phillabaum, 77 of Boardman who passed away Thursday morning in Hospice House. Bud was born January 21, 1932 in Gallatin, PA, the son of Roy and Goldie (Miller) Phillabaum. He was a graduate of Brownsville High School class of 1950 and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Bud was the owner and operator of Buds Amico Station in Canfield for 50 years retiring in September of 1999. He was a member of St. Michael Church in Canfield; his hobbies included wood working and painting in water colors. On December 27, 1950, Bud married his high school sweetheart, the former Virginia Dillon. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Virginia, five daughters; Lucinda Steele of Seattle WA, Mary (Craig) Blei of Boardman, Terri Crogan of Canfield, Melinda Ramson of Lafayette LA, and Jan Phillabaum of Boardman. Bud also leave two sisters; Joretta LaCotta of MO, and Hazel Hugh of Cleveland, two brothers; Marion Phillabaum of Brownsville, and Jack Phillabaum of KY, as well as eight grandchildren; Nicholas and Alyssa Steele of Seattle, Stephanie, Rachel, Sarah, and Abigail Blei of Boardman, and Trevor and Taryn Crogan of Canfield. Besides his parents, Bud is preceded in death by a sister Norma Jean Phillabaum and a brother Raymond Phillabaum. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
