Mary Elizabeth Slough

Berlin Center- Private funeral services will be held at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Mary E. Slough who died Monday morning at her residence. Mary was born February 11, 1911 in Tiro, Ohio the daughter of Virl and Anna Blackford Bender and was a life long area resident. Mary was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid of the church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and enjoyed life. She loved to sew and enjoyed flowers and gardening. Mary had formerly worked at Copeland Oaks as a housekeeper and nurse’s aid. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen M. (John) Mitzel of Berlin Center and son Glenn (Devona) Coy of Peoria, AZ., grandchildren; Robin Hice, Kathy (John Toole, Lind (Rob) Thompson, Scott (Kathy) Duff, Sean (Tonya) Duff and Kimberly K. McCormick. She also leaves great grandchildren; Avonela, Zachery, Timothy, Daniel, Danya, Damien, Candice, Ian, Collin and great great grandchildren; Jaden and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold whom she married August 15, 1934. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
