Lake Milton- Mary Lou Snyder passed peacefully at her home with her daughters on Tuesday evening. She was a 17 year cancer survivor and inspiration to her family, friends and healthcare providers. Mary Lou was born in Youngstown to L. Gladys Smith and Gard S. Smith and grew up in the heyday of Idora Park and graduated from South High School in 1946. Her circle of high school friends, the "BellaDonnas" remained close and playing bridge for over 60 years. She married Paul R. Snyder in 1948 and together they traveled to Mexico, Italy, Spain and Panama. She was active in community service and was a charter member of the Austintown Kiwaniqueens and Lake Milton Woman's League, serving as president of both. In addition to bridge, Mary Lou water-skied, swam, bowled, danced, golfed and was an avid reader. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Karen of Lake Milton, Lt. Col Kim (USAF Nurse Corps-retired) of Akron and Kellie Snyder Trombitas of San Antonio, TX. Grandsons Paul and Simeon, Son in law Major General Simeon Trombitas currently commander to US Army South; her sister Janet Armstrong of Columbiana, niece Cathy Bernstein of Austintown and nephew Dale W. Cross of McDonald. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 2 pm Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel where funeral services will be at 2pm. Pagano, Mehta, Lim, Bogen, Lloyd(s), De Pasquale and the wonderful pharmacy staff and greeters at Austintown Walmart for their care and concern over the years.
