North Jackson- Services celebrating the life of Ted Keck will be held at 11am Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Canfield Chapel with Pastor Bonnie Dutton officiating. Ted was born August 26, 1923 in North Jackson the son of Nelson A. and Minnie Tessean Keck and lived in North Jackson all of his life. Ted passed away Saturday morning at Salem Community Hospital. Ted retired in 1970 from Republic Steel Warren Coke Plant where he was a mill right for 24 years. After his retirement from Republic he was employed at Lake Park Cemetery for 18 years. Ted also served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was very active in his community as a member of the Ellsworth Presbyterian Church where he had been a Deacon, Elder, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the choir for 40 years. Ted also served on the Western Reserve School Board for 8 years and was assistant Cub-master for 8 years. Along with his wife Eloise he traveled many cities as an Amway representative. He will be sadly missed by his children; Dale (Nora Swanson) of Birmingham, AL., , Robert (Barb) Keck of Berlin Center, Carol Santucci (Al Schafer) of Canfield, Jack Keck of Hudson, FL. and Jill (Jeff) Roth of Hudson, FL. Ted also leaves 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Ted was preceded in death by his wife Eloise E. Barringer whom he married July 29, 1946 and who died August 1, 2005, brothers, Howard, Lee, Noble, William Keck and sisters Edna Cambell, Ruth Rhodes and Betty Metzler. Family and friends may call from 5- 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to Ellsworth Presbyterian Church in Ted's name.
