Virginia Ruth Twinem, 93, of Warren, passed away Monday afternoon, September 7, 2009 at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home. Born October 15, 1915 in Warren, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie E. (Phillips) Hardman. A lifetime area resident and graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Virginia worked for many years as an assistant to Dr's Schaffer, Thomas, and Musser in Warren. She was a member of the Tod Avenue United Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday school. Virginia was a seamstress, enjoyed crafts and was also an award winning quilter. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and attending flea markets. Most of all she was devoted to and took care of her family. She married Harold James Twinem April 18, 1939 who has preceded her in death. Virginia is survived by a son William C. Twinem of Southington, and daughter Donna (William K.) Alcorn of Vienna, four grandchildren, William E. Twinem, Teresa R. Garretson, Jennifer Alcorn and Steven Alcorn, ten great grandchildren, Michael, Elijah, Zachary, Megan, Morgan, Brooke, Emily, Heather, Sarah, and Joshua, by a brother Robert (Louise) Hardman of Howland, and by her former daughter-in-law, Carole Zyniecki of Southington. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and great grandson. According to Virginia's wishes there will be no calling hours and cremation will take place. A service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11AM in the chapel at the Pineview Memorial Park. The family has entrusted arrangements to the care of the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel.
