William H. “Bill” Mansell, 65, of The Boyd’s Home in Kinsman, died peacefully 7:15 PM Monday April 6, 2009 at Hospice House of Poland after a 6 month battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). He was born Dec.5, 1943 in Warren the son of Edgar and Elsie (Denger) Mansell. A lifetime area resident, Bill attended Fairhaven School and Workshop and worked as an assembler for Pitmark Services Inc. at Boyd’s Home for the past 30 years. He was a faithful member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church and he enjoyed bowling, riding bicycles, traveling, and camping. Bill had a big heart, loved dogs, and he especially liked spending time with his family. He enjoyed parties and made decorations for every holiday, many of which were spent with the Oberman family. He will be sadly missed by his brother Stan (Deborah) Mansell of Vacaville, CA, his sister Sally (John) Oberman of Youngstown, by his beloved nieces and nephews ; Lance, Jackie, Blair, Jeff and great nieces Abigail, Hannah, Josiah, and David, and by his fellow residents of The Boyd’s Home whom he considered family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday April 10, 2009 at Roberts-Clark Chapel where friends will be received from 9:30 AM until service time. Rev. Larry Myers and Rev. Jay Eastman will officiate. Interment will be in Braceville Twp. Cemetery. The family suggests material contributions be made to Boyd’s Kinsman Home PO Box 315 Kinsman, OH 44428 or Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market Sat. Youngstown, OH. Bill’s family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and Hospice House staff for the loving care he received during his illness. They also express heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care he received at The Boyd’s Home since 1971.
