Agnes M. Caldwell

Agnes M. Caldwell, 89, passed away Sunday morning January 28, 2024 at Cortland Healthcare. 

Agnes was born on September 3, 1934 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Helen Bruss. 

She enjoyed being outside whenever she could; especially when she moved to Cortland and spend time on her porch. She also was a lover of cats and loved to be with her cat, Squeaky. 

Agnes will be deeply missed by her niece, who was also her caretaker, Carol Reed; her sister, Jenith Carroll; great-nephew Richie; and many other nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mervin Caldwell; brothers, Gilbert “Pete”, Melvin, George Bruss, and two infant brothers; and sister, Peggy Kuch. 

Family and friends may visit from 2-3:00PM on Sunday February 4, 2024 at Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel, located at 164 N. High St. in Cortland. Funeral services will follow at 3:00PM. 

Burial will take place at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown.
