Alfreda Mae Robinson

NILES: Alfreda M. Robinson, 103, passed away at Humility House on March 17, 2017. Alfreda was born in Niles on August 30, 1913 to Richard & Susan (Slater) Moseley. On June 26, 1935 in New Castle, PA she united in marriage to John Robinson whom preceded her in death in 1954. Alfreda spent her career as the assistant librarian at the Niles McKinley Library until her retirement in 1976. She was a lady of great faith and a longtime member of the Niles First United Methodist Church. She was very active in many of the church circles and committees including the Wesleyan Service Guild. Alfreda was also involved with the Rebecca's female organization of the ODD fellows and she received a 25 year service award from Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed bowling as well. When she was 98 she joined a cardio fitness class at Fit Family. The class met twice a week and she never missed. Visit with Alfreda's family on Thursday March 23, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes, Niles location; 415 Robbins Ave. where a funeral service will be held on Friday March 24th at 10:00 a.m. Besides her husband, Alfreda was preceded in death by her sister Ethel Roe. She is survived by her children Sue (Bob) Bullock, Richard (Pat) Robinson and Carolyn Lorent; her grandchildren Rick (Sharon) Bullock, Beth Ripple, Pam (John) Valentino, James (Kelli) Bullock, Kim Sullivan, Tonya (Ed) Garofoli, Ryan (Allison) Robinson, Rhonda (Cal) Harris, John (Caryl) Lorent and Georgia Shaffer as well as 14 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
