Allen Jay 'Fraz' Frazer, age 66, of Burghill, Ohio, died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at 6:40 AM at his residence. He was born on April 25, 1941 in Sharon, PA., the son of the late Bruce Frazer and the late M. Madeline (Hogue) Frazer. Mr. Frazer was a 1959 graduate of Hickory High School and obtained his Associate degree in Business from the Youngstown State University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged after three years of service. Allen worked at Packard Electric for thirty seven years, retiring in 1998. While employed there, he served as a Local Union Representative, president of the Packard ski club and a volunteer representing Packard Electric for the United Way of Trumbull County. He was very active in the Cortland Moose Lodge # 1012. During his twenty three year membership, Mr. Frazer obtained the status of Higher Degree Fellow and served as Governor from 2004 - 2005 and from 2006 - 2007. Allen held many offices in the Moose Lodge, from past Governor to President of District 87. Most recently, Mr. Frazer was awarded the 2006 / 2007 Moose of the Year award. Allen enjoyed gardening, woodworking, golfing, skiing and researching his Scottish heritage. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Cavaliers and Nascar. Mr. Frazer will be remembered for many things, however he may best be remembered as a man who held a special place in his heart for children. He loved to see children smile. He coached softball, volunteered his time at the Special Olympics in Columbus, OH., for many years and donated countless hours to help under privileged children. Allen lived life to it's fullest and cherished his time with his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his daughter, Mindy (Richard Epstein) Frazer of Hermitage, PA. Son, Ira (Karen) Frazer of Sharpsville, PA. Brother, Robert (Eleanor) Frazer of Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Three grandchildren, Aislinn, Maxim and Gwynne Frazer of Sharpsville. Also surviving is his later in life partner, Lorita Nodge of Burghill. Lorita's children, Sheri (Tim) Streitferdt of Cortland, OH. and Tim Nodge of Southington, OH., as well as Lorita's grandchildren, Ashley, Bobbie, Brandi and Kayla. He leaves behind Andrea Hart Meffe of Cortland, who was like a daughter to him. He was preceded in death by two brothers, David and John Frazer as well as a nephew, Scott Frazer. Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, 164 North High Street, Cortland, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 4 PM - 7 PM on Thursday, June21, 2007 at the funeral Home. Services will be at the funeral home on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 11 AM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.
