Anastasia Cornicelli

Anastasia (Zenevich) Cornicelli, age 96, passed away on December 2, 2024 at Heritage Manor in Youngstown, Ohio.

Anastasia (Stasia) was born March 28, 1928, the daughter of Samuel and Martha (Balakoff) Zenevich. She lived most of her life in Youngstown, Ohio as a girl. After marrying her husband Michael (Mike), they lived first on Kenmore Avenue in Warren, later to the house they built on Cain Drive in Howland, and then to North River Road. After Mike passed, Stasia moved to assisted living in Niles and then to skilled nursing care in Youngstown.

Stasia was preceded in death by her husband Mike and her sister Dolores (Donald) Lafferty. She is survived by five children: Michael (Donald Barshinger) Cornicelli of Chicago, Illinois; Marilyn (Richard) Walton of Niles, Ohio; Jerry (Christine) Cornicelli of Lakewood, Colorado; Cheryl (Frank) Geidner of Youngstown, Ohio; and Raymond Cornicelli (Amy Shafer) of Warren, Ohio; nine grandchildren: Mark, Kim, Michael Paul, Michael Francis, Jaclyn, Kelly, Frank, Andrew, and Alex; and seven great grandchildren: Ella, Jillian, Maison, Miles, Michael Jr., Greyson, and Barrett. Stasia is also survived by her sister Ruth (Harmon) Lustig of Girard, Ohio. 

Stasia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, and sister who enjoyed family time, cooking, and visits with her friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 6, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road, NE, Warren, Ohio, followed immediately by mass. A luncheon reception will follow from 12:00p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 East Market Street, Warren, Ohio.

Donations in lieu of flowers would be appreciated to a hospice of the donor’s choice.
