Andrew William Skrobola, 78, of Canfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 21. Andrew was born on November 2, 1936 in Yonkers, New York, to Andrew and Anna (Ivanick) Skrobola. On June 3, 1961, he married Marie Antoinette Fargnoli, who preceded him in death. Andrew is survived by his children, Christine (Gregory) Dziak, Andrew (Laurie) Skrobola, Jay (Andrea) Skrobola and James (Heidi) Skrobola; siblings, Martha (Lodi, deceased) Galassi, Robert (Marge) Skrobola, Betty (Frank) Wojcicki, Carol (Ray) Pace, Linda (Lex) Monaco, Elaine Hunt, Marie (John) Lalli and Edward Skrobola (deceased); grandchildren, Nicholas, Will, Gina, Madeline, Benjamin, Jay Andrew, Joseph, Christopher and Michael; and numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Andrew was a 1958 graduate of New York University and retired in 1999 as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Thomas Steel Strip, Inc. He was a member of St. Michael's Parish, a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Rev. Francis X. Borrano Council, a charter member, treasurer and board member of the Canfield Lions' Club, a member of the Canfield Investment Club and an active participant with the Center for Learning and Canfield Community Care Net. Andrew served for 8 years as a councilman for the City of Canfield and was a current member of the Canfield Joint Fire District. He devoted countless hours to community service by tutoring high school students in math and organizing annual holiday food drives, among many other volunteer activities. Andrew was a devoted husband to his wife of 52 years, Marie, who passed away on April 17, 2014, and a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and watching any kind of sporting event. He will be dearly missed by us all. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home in Canfield. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 27, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canfield, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
