Of South Turner Road Passed away at her residence Saturday, May 25,2002, at 3:00 Pm, following a Long Illness. Ann was born, September 11,1922 in Yukon, Pa. And came to the Youngstown area as a child. She was the daughter of; Adolph and Helen (Klein) Filicky. Ann was a School Teacher at the Austintown Middle School for 23 yrs, where she had taught 5th, 6th, 7th grade Mathematics and 5th grade Science and also was a Health Teacher. Prior before coming to Austintown School System, she had taught in Monroe, Michigan and Modesto, California.A Member of St.James Catholic Church in North Jackson,Ohio A Charter Member of the School Belles, since 1963. Ann holds a Masters Degree from Westminster College. She also completed courses at the Unversity of California and Kent State Unversity. A Member of the Local,State and National Education Organizations. Ann also served Two years in the U.S.Navy, during WW II, working in a Navel Hospital and Dental Clinic. She enjoyed Refinishing Furniture, Learning to play the Piano and Traveling. Survived By; 1 Sister; Tillie Gbur of Austintown, Ohio and Several Nieces and Newpews. Preceded in Death By; her Parents, 3 Brothers; Steve, John, Frank Filicky. 3 Sisters; Mary, Mildred and Helen Filicky. Funeral Services will be Wednesday May 29, 2002 at 10:00 am in St. James Catholic Church, Calling Hours will be Tuesday, May 28,2002, from 5 to 8 Pm at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. Burial will be in Calvery Cemetery in Youngstown,Ohio
