Anna Marie "Mickey" Schuster Fleischer passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Shepherd of the Valley, Howland. Anna Marie was born June 28, 1922 in Owosso, Michigan the daughter of Martin and Sophie Schmidt Schuster. Her family moved back to Cleveland when she was eight years old. She graduated from West High School, Cleveland in 1941 and then graduated from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, Cleveland in 1944. She also attended Western Reserve University and Kent State Trumbull to further her education. Anna Marie was a 2nd Lt. in the Army during WWII serving at Crile General Hospital, Cleveland, for one year. While working as a registered nurse at Crile she met a patient, WWII veteran Mike Fleischer, and they were married September 22, 1951 at Bethany Evangelical Reformed Church, Cleveland and moved to his hometown of Warren where she resided until 2004 when she moved to Shepherd of the Valley. She worked at Trumbull Memorial as a general duty nurse and then as an assistant clinical instructor in medical /surgical nursing at Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing 15 years, retiring in 1971 after 18 years of service. Anna Marie then worked as a registered nurse at Warren General Hospital retiring in 1984 after six years. She then volunteered at Passport 65 for several years at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Anna Marie was a member of North Mar Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing cards with her sister-in-law Grace Fleischer and friends, the Kenley Players, Turner Classic Movies and was very proud of her grandchildren. She is survived by her son Richard K. (Janice D. Galbreath) Fleischer of Cortland, grandchildren Kathleen A. Fleischer of Cortland, David M. (Stephanie M. Osborne) Fleischer of Jacksonville, N.C. and great-grandson Crosby W. Fleischer of Jacksonville, N.C. Anna Marie is also survived by her brother-in-law John Fleischer, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and her friends at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She was preceded in death by her husband Mike in 1995, her siblings Elsie McGuire, Adelaide Caswell, Julius, Ralph and Esther Schuster; and several sister and brother-in-laws. The family would like to thank Shepherd of the Valley for their excellent care and the deaconesses and ministers of North Mar Church for their kindnesses. Calling hours for Anna Marie will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to North Mar Church, 3855 E. Market St., Warren, OH 44484.
