Anna Wiant

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 29th at the Canfield Christian Church for Anna Wiant of 12205 Goshen Rd. in Salem who passed away Thursday morning at Salem Community Hospital. Mrs. Wiant was born April 26, 1924 in Youngstown, the daughter of Stephen and Helen Rohan. She had formerly worked at the Canfield Schools, the Canfield A&P, and most recently at Lynn Lockers. A 51 year member of the church, she was also a member of the women’s fellowship and loved to play bingo. Besides her husband Russell, whom she married March 3, 1942, she leaves four children; . Larry Wiant of Canfield, Jerry Wiant of Austintown, Ron Wiant of Salem, and Donna Schaefer of Kenosha, WI. She also leaves two sisters: Stella Ondash of Youngstown, and Helen Serbati of Erie, PA and a brother Stephen Rohan of Youngstown. , Also surviving are 10 grandchildren: Gerald R. Wiant, Noel M. McShane, Darren S. Wiant, Holly A. Gaida, Sherry L. Wiant, Kenneth Wiant, Rebecca A. Wiant, David D. Wiant, Stephanie L. Thouvenin, and Joshua J. Wiant. As well as 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wiant was preceded in death by her Sister Sophi Blotsky and two brothers: Michael and Walter Rohan. Memorial tributes may be sent to the church building fund.
