YOUNGSTOWN Arlene Mae Yeager, age 87, of 154 Kleber Ave., Austintown died Sunday April 15, 2012 at Briarfield Manor just two weeks after suffering a broken hip. Born February 7, 1925 in Youngstown, she was the adoptive daughter of wonderful Christian parents, Warren and Ruth (Hines) Pearce of Hilton Ave. Mrs. Yeager was a life-long area resident. After leaving South High School at age 17, she found employment at Falmer Manufacturing where she worked for over 25 years as a machine operator doing intricate drilling and machining. She married Wade F. Yeager on May 29, 1946. They together were avid bowlers and with whom she enjoyed making thousands of personalized key chains. She enjoyed ceramics and especially loved yard work or anything that would get her out in the sun. She was also a care-giver for many years of several area residents including Alcina Habeger. Arlene professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, along with her husband Wade in October 1974 at Old North Church where they were baptized. Arlene was a member of Parkview Rebekah Lodge #719 for many many years and assisted with serving the famous, and not to be forgotten, ham dinners. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Wade, who died May 10, 1987 (whose family were old time residents of Austintown and farmed the land that is now Green Haven Memorial Cemetery.) She is survived by sister-in-law Catherine (Kay) Yeager of Austintown, 8 nieces, 3 nephews, and many friends and neighbors. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Green Haven Memorial Gardens Chapel; friends will be received one half hour prior to the service.
