Arlene Ann Yochman

Arlene Ann (Morris) Yochman, 88, of Newton Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 31^st,2024 at Country Club Rehab. She was born the daughter of the late William Morris and Sarah Thurman in Hawthorne, California. Her parents moved to the area shortly after, where Arlene attended Newton Falls High School, where she was big in to cheerleading and was a 1954 graduate. She went on take some college courses in computers and accounting because, “she really loved numbers.” She went on to marry her husband, Leonard Youchman, with whom she met at the local dance hall in Lake Milton, in Germany, and spent 65 + years together before his passing in 2019. Together, they had 3 children, Joe, Jennifer and Mike.

Arlene was a school treasurer for Jackson Milton Schools and went on to become a tax preparer for H & R Block for over 50 years. She was described as “spunky” and according to her daughter, she liked to refer to her as “Gamblin’ Granny”, due to her love of playing cards. She also loved going to get her hair done with her beautician, Jackie, and talking to her network of friends.  

Arlene leaves behind to carry on her memory, her children, Jenniefer (Kermit) Lassen and Mike Yochman; her sister-in-law’s, Rita Yochman and Robin Yochman; her grandchildren, Douglas, Logan, Michael, Jake and Nick; and one great grandchild, Xavier. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a son, Joe Yochman.
