Arnold C. Welch

Youngstown: Arnold C. Welch, age 77, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Born March 30, 1938 in Youngstown, he was the son of Howard and O. Ruth (Fielding) Welch. Mr. Welch was a 1956 graduate of Fitch High School where he played in the band; he also played in the Warren Junior Military Band. He retired from Bliss Manufacturing after 37 years of service. He was a member at Ohltown United Methodist Church where he was active in various roles and organizations. He was involved as a leader with Boy Scouts of America; he enjoyed bowling. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nancy L. (Boyer); children: Arnold "Chuck" (Sharon) Jr., Andrew (Kalynn), Dean (Cindy), and Lisa Hunter; grandchildren: Nathan (Miriam), Ben, Eliza, Zane, and Seth Welch, Sarah (George) Raptis, and Alexis Hunter; and great grandson Vasilios Raptis. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert and 2 grandsons, Shaun and Zachary. A Memorial Service will be held at Ohltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Rd., Mineral Ridge, Ohio 44440, on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 4:00PM with Pastor Teresa Smolka officiating, friends will be received at the church beginning at 2:00PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
