Barbara Ann Schreiber went home to be with her Lord and Savior on 12/16/2021 at age 67. Although she recently had many health issues, her death was unexpectedly sudden. A Celebration of Life, with Pastor Jack Acri officiating, will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at Lane Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
Barbara, also known as "Barb" or "B”, was born to Robert W. and Evelyn E. Schreiber on November 16, 1954 in Rutherford, NJ. Her parents previously passed away, Robert in 1967 and Evelyn in 2011. Mourning her loss are her sister, Linda (Jeffrey) Williams, Haddonfield NJ and brother Douglas (Wendy) Schreiber, Pinehurst NC. She is also sadly missed by her cherished nephews, Jesse Williams, Daniel (Christine) Williams and Michael (Mellissa) Williams & their children, Adrian, Elias and Abigail, all of New Jersey.
Barbara grew up, and lived most of her life in the greater Youngstown, OH area. As a child, Barbara was a good student and loved school. She graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1973 and subsequently graduated from Youngstown State University in 1977. She was a kind and loving friend, always willing to help someone in need. She was active in the Open-Door Church in Mc Donald OH and participated in many activities including choir and charity events. She loved to sing, especially Christian songs & often listened to and sang along to Christian music while driving. Barbara relocated to Haddon Township NJ in 2003 to live closer to family and share in the care of her beloved mother as her mother's health deteriorated. While living in NJ, Barbara worked in customer service roles for Comcast and as a tax preparer for H&R Block until she retired.
Although Barbara never married, she loved and was loved by her nephews and Mike & Mellissa's little ones who often made her happy. Favorites times were family vacations, birthdays and holidays which she looked forward to and actively participated. She was thrilled to attend the weddings of Doug & Wendy, Mike & Mellissa, & Danny & Christine and to celebrate their joyful events with them. Mike fondly recalls Barb's love of Coke, the Coke Bear, stuffed bears in general and her generosity in gift giving to all. Jesse recalls how whenever he spoke to her, & shared his thoughts with her, he left in an uplifted mood. Danny thinks often of a family trip to Hawaii & sitting on the beach and at the foot of Diamond Head with her, discussing life. She always offered support and encouragement to all.
Jeff & Linda think of all the countless times she offered to help, with many things from cooking, gift wrapping and stocking stuffing to Halloween candy giving. She was a good listener and full of compassion for others. She never met a family dog she didn't like & reminded us often to "Give them a pet from me!”
Loving, long- time dear friends, Linda Ciolli of Canfield OH & Kay McHale of Cape Coral FL shared many fun and relaxing vacation days in sunny Florida and elsewhere. The support she received from these dear friends meant the world to her.
Barb's wish for all her loved ones would be to love one another with your whole heart. She would say to cherish each day, even the difficult ones, believing in the One who holds us in His hands and that He loves us beyond all measure. Be sure you know the Lord Jesus as your Savior so we can all meet again in Heaven! For as scripture says, “There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with me where I am. John 14:2,3. (TLB). Until we meet again dear loved ones...
