Barbara Hough

Barbara Hough 85, of Canfield, passed away Monday afternoon at her residence. Born August 3, 1939, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Palagenech) Skoda and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Barbara graduated from The Rayen High School and dedicated over 45 years of her life working at Haas Orchard and Cider Mill before retiring. A devoted member of St. Michael Catholic Church for over 60 years, she also served her community at Calla Community Church, where she volunteered for bereavement lunches and the ice-cream festival. Barbara cherished the time spent helping her sons at local fairs, working in the concession stands. She was also an avid Cavaliers fan.

She was married to her beloved husband, Robert Budd Hough, Sr., on January 10, 1959, who predeceased her on September 24, 2009. Barbara is survived by her two sons, Robert (Sandra) Hough of Ellsworth and Thomas (Ruth) Hough of Canfield; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters, Catherine Susany of Youngstown, Madeline Rosace of Girard, and Diana Prado Vance of Toledo. Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Skoda, and one granddaughter.

Friends may call on Monday, October 28, at Lane Funeral Home from 5:00 pm – 7:00 p.m. Prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Church.
