AUSTINTOWN-There will be Services at 1 p.m. Friday at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church in Austintown for Barbara J. Babinchak, 90, who passed away Monday afternoon at Briarfield Manor. She was born April 3, 1928 in Youngstown, a daughter of Albert and Christine Scott Taylor, Sr. Barbara was a 1946 graduate of South High School. She was a home-maker and had been a representative with Avon. Barbara also worked at the T.L.C.C. Day Care Center at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, retiring at the age of 80. She was a long time member of the church, where she was very active, especially as a member of the Esther Circle and Womens organization of the church. She loved to sing as a member of the Youngstown Christian Singers. She was also the treasurer for Jobs Daughters. Barbara was very active with the PTA for all of her children. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was a true baseball fan, she especially enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians. Barbara loved her cats, Oreo, Grady and Kali. Her husband of 61 years, Michael Babinchak, Jr., whom she married April 17, 1948, died Aug. 2, 2009. Barbara is survived by her children, Gary M. Babinchak of Austintown, Cheryl J. (Fred) Billock of North Royalton, Brian E. Babinchak of Austintown and Becky S. (Michael) Bakalik of Parma and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Eddy, Margaret Taylor and Elizabeth (Betty) Taylor; her brothers, Albert "Babe" Taylor, Jr. and David Taylor, Sr.; her sister-in-law, Helen Taylor and her brother-in-law, Dick Eddy. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Friday at the church, prior to the Service. The family would like to thank the staff at Briarfield Manor for their compassionate care and concern for Barbara. Memorial contributions in Barbaras name may be given to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406. Arrangements are by the Lane Family Funeral Homes-Austintown Chapel.
