Barbara J. Phillips

There will be a funeral service at 11 AM Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Barbara J. Phillips who died on Friday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Barbara was born February 9, 1941 in Youngstown the daughter of the late Robert E. and Anna (Yates) Boyer. A homemaker, Barbara enjoyed sewing, boating and snowmobiling. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Austintown Fitch High School 1959 Class Reunion Committee. Barbara is survived by her husband Donald W. Phillips whom she married on July 7, 1962; two children, Denise (Richard) Zimmermann of Austintown, and David W. (Victoria) Phillips of Radcliff, KY; six grandchildren: Christina (Nicholas) Thompson of Charleston, SC; Gwendolynn and Donald Phillips of Radcliff, KY; and Samantha, Amanda, and Marisa Zimmermann of Austintown; eight sisters: Lillian (Howard) Divelbiss of Austintown, Elizabeth (Leo) Genetta of North Jackson, Janice Kunkle of Austintown, Katherine (Howard) Johnson of Struthers, Nancy (Arnold) Welch of Austintown, Judith (Mickey) Kaiser of Columbia, MO, Alice (Michael) Kochera of Mineral Ridge, and Kareene (Kenneth) Conway of Austintown, and one brother: Robert F. (Patricia) Boyer of Austintown. Besides her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by two sisters: Clara Mae Boyer and Anna Rick. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Barbara’s name. Family and friends may call from 5-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
