Barbara Lynn Ray

Barbara Lynn Ray, 65 Private services will be at the chapel at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens for Barbara Lynn Ray, 65 of New Middletown who died Thursday at University Hospital of Cleveland. Barbara was born June 3, 1953 in Conway, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John and Loretta (Ferrence) Copus and moved to Bessemer, Pennsylvania in 1987 and to New Middletown in 2012. She graduated from Freedom High School in 1971. Barbara had worked in the meat department at the Shop-N-Save in New Castle for 8 years prior to going to Mohawk Elementary School, where she had worked in the cafeteria for 21 years. She was a member of the LadiesAuxilliary of the Springfield VFW Post #2799. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend and soul mate and will be dearly missed by her husband, Milan Bickerstaff; her son, Ryan Ray of Poland; a daughter, Jamie Ray of New Castle and four grandchildren, Shannon, Caitlyn, David and Michael. Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, John Copus. I lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 6111 Oak Tree Blvd., Suite 130, Independence, OH 44131 or ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd Street, NY, NY 10128-6804.
