Barry Michael Piper passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 71 years old.

Barry was born on March 19, 1953 and raised in Cortland, Ohio, the son of Edna Mary and the late George Piper. Barry graduated from Lakeview High School in 1971. Following graduation, he began his career at Packard Motor Plant. Known for his strong work ethic, Barry dedicated over three decades of service at Packard before retiring in 2005. He also was part owner of Tracks Inn in Cortland with his best friend, Ben Bowers from 1979 to 1985. He went on to marry his wife, Cheryl on August 14, 1981, and had 43 beautiful years together.

Upon retirement, Barry embraced a new chapter in his life by venturing into the insurance industry with Greenwood Insurance Agency, where he continued to build meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Barry was most known in the community for his passion for golf. A dedicated golfer, he achieved the remarkable feat of three holes-in-one during his career on the course. Whether playing a casual round with friends or competing in local tournaments, Barry's enthusiasm for the game and his camaraderie with fellow golfers made him a cherished figure in the local golf community.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Piper, brother-in-law, Larry Burt, niece Melanie Charvat, and in-laws, Earl and Madeline Gisewhite.

Mathes (Kevin) of Cortland, Ohio, Jeffrey T. Piper (Jamie) of Warren, Ohio, and Katie A. Hill (Jeff) of Austintown, Ohio, along with 11 grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
