Bernice Leona Derico

Orwell - Bernice Leona Derico, 92, passed away Sunday evening, March 10, 2024 at Ohman Family Living in Middlefield. 

Bernice was born on December 14, 1931 in Wildcat, WV and daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Bodkin) Powers.

She was a graduate of Walkersville High School and has been a Trumbull County resident since 1954. 

She enjoyed flower gardening, garage saleling, various crafts such as, quilting, painting, and needle point, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. 

Bernice will be deeply missed by her loving sons, Michael R. (Tracey) Derico, Anthony L. (Marti) Derico, and William R. (Julie) Derico; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and brother George “Butch” (Barbara) Powers. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lebro V. Derico whom she married on January 20, 1951 and who passed away on January 17, 1993; sisters, Genevieve McClain, Madeline Mitchell, Barbara Paugh, Merle Metzgar, Helen Eckes, Pearl Montgomery, and Phyllis Blackstone; and brother, Ray (Junior) Powers. 

Family and friends may visit from 10-12:00PM on Thursday March 14, 2024 at Northeast Christian Church located at 865 Perkins Jones Rd. NE in Warren. Funeral services will follow at 12:00PM

Burial will take place at Sager Memorial Cemetery in Bristolville. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Northeast Christian Church in her memory.
