Beverly J. (Hoffman) Prus

Beverly J. (Hoffman) Prus, 93, passed away on April 1, 2019 in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was born to the late Elmer D. and Myrtle (Havens) Brock in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Also preceding her in death were her two brothers, Anthony Brock and William Brock both of Columbus, Ohio; her first husband Gerald Hoffman of Binghamton, New York; and the love of her life J. William Prus of Canfield, Ohio and Ft Myers, Florida. She leaves her son, Ronald Hoffman (Mary Ann); her daughter, Suzanne Gentile (Bob); and a step-son, Kevin Prus, Sr. (Ginny); as well as five grandchildren (Jodie, Kimberly, Julie, Kevin Jr, and Jamie) and seven great grandchildren. Beverly graduated from Johnson City (NY) High School and attended Broome C.C. College for accounting. She has worked as a secretary at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church (Binghamton, NY) and at the Vestal (NY) Nursing Home. After marrying J. William, she moved to Canfield, Ohio (where she was a "Canfield housewife") and later to Ft Myers, FL. She loved being involved with her husband "Bill" in local and the international Model T car clubs through which they travelled throughout the country on many Model T tours. She also loved cooking for the Boy Scout Council meetings. She was a member of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church (Binghamton), the Canfield Methodist Church, the Cypress Lakes Methodist Church (Ft Myers), and the Cypress Cove Chapel (Ft Myers) where she often attended the Wednesday evening Bible Study as well as the Sunday Services. A grave side service will be held with the family at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18th at the Canfield Cemetery in Canfield, Ohio with the Lane Funeral Home handling the arrangements and the Reverend Vernon Shepherd leading the service.
