Billy Joe Johnson

Billy Joe Johnson, 87, of Austintown, Ohio passed away on November 28th, 2024 at Continuing Healthcare of Niles. He was born on May 26th, 1937 in Cairo, West Virginia to the late Rondel Johnson and Faynelle (Clark) Couch. He was a 1955 graduate of Howland High School and went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. After his time in the military, Billy went on to work for GM in skilled trades and robotics, retiring in 2002.

Billy married his wife of 66 years, Eunice Val Jean (Corbin) Johnson, while serving in the Marine Corp. He was an avid bowler and golfer, scoring multiple 300s and he had several holes-in-one.

Billy leaves behind his children, Pamela Jean (Len) Smith and Michele Lee (Todd) Mayle; his grandchildren, Brandon (Holly) Smith, Philip Smith and Megan Mayle, as well as his great-grandchildren, Hunter and Logan Smith. He took great pride in his grandchildren and loved being a grandpa.
