Brian Douglas Jones

Brian Douglas Jones of Champion, OH died on Friday May 21, 2010 at 4:20PM at his residence with his family by his side after a courageous eight year battle with brain cancer. Brian lived his life by Jim Valvano's quote "Don't give up, Don't ever give up" which he had tattooed on his leg. Mr. Jones was born on October 7, 1976 in Warren, Ohio the son of John R. and Carmella (Ritz) Jones. He was a 1995 graduate of Mathews High School where he lettered in both Golf and Baseball. He attended Youngstown State University was working for Bank of America in Beachwood, OH as a credit analyst. An avid golfer, Brian accomplished a "Hole in One" on the #14 hole Par 4 at Riverview Golf Course when he was eighteen years old. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers football teams. Brian enjoyed taking part in his Fantasy Football League, NASCAR Racing, and playing poker with his friends and family. He leaves to remember him his parents John and Carmella Jones of Vienna, OH and his brothers Christopher Jones and his wife Jaime (Thomas) of Warren, OH, and Anthony Jones of Vienna, OH. His nephew Braden Jones and his "little buddy" Zaine Musolf, cousin William Hays, aunts and uncles, cousins, many special friends and his dog Chancie. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Casey and Dora (Fields) Jones, maternal grandparents Archie and Mary Kovach Ritz, and Uncle Dale L. Jones. Calling hours for Brian will be held on Tuesday evening May 25, 2010 from 5:00-8:00PM at the Lane Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel in Brookfield, OH. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 26, 2010 at 11:00AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Crumbley of St. James Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Vienna Township Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be made in Brian's memory to Hospice of the Valley Trumbull County Chapter 5000 E Market St, #19 Warren, OH 44483.
