Bruce Clymer, born on August 17, 1949, in Findlay, Ohio, was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Raised by his loving aunt, Ivy Bailie, Bruce's warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him. He passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Bruce served 6 years in the Army National Guard. He attended Youngstown State University, where he majored in English and retired after 47 years at General Motors, where he was respected for his hard work and commitment. Outside of work, Bruce found joy in his workshop, creating beautiful furniture that brought warmth to his family’s home. His passion for gardening allowed him to cultivate not only plants but also lasting memories with his loved ones.
Bruce was a devoted Cleveland sports fan, often found cheering for the Browns while enjoying a burger and a cold beer. Yet, his greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, Deborah Clymer, and their three daughters, Shannon (Mike), Amy (Steve), and Katie (Vinnie). He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Sarah, Nathan, Madeline, Elizabeth, Paige, Chloe, and Bruce, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Deborah; his daughters; and his seven grandchildren. He also leaves behind his niece, Maureen Della Penna, nephew Rob Sell, and his faithful furry companion, Charlie, who brought him comfort and joy.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Clymer; his Aunt Ivy Bailie; and his father, Jack Clymer. Bruce’s legacy of love, dedication, and laughter will forever be cherished by those he leaves behind.
In honor of his life, the family will hold a private celebration, reflecting the love and memories that Bruce created with each of us.
