Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Bruce E. Rogers Sr. of 2621 Austin Ave., Youngstown, who passed away at Northside Medical Center on Tuesday. He was born March 22, 1930 in Pennsboro West Virginia, the son of Bruce and Arabella(Sadler) Rogers. He was an assistant loader at Republic Steel for 30 years, then a foreman for L.T.V. for 5 years, retiring in 1985. After retirement he worked as a club manager at Austintown F.O.E. 3298. He and his wife co-owned Isaly’s Hazelwood and Mahoning in mid 70's. He was a member of Austintown F.O.E., 3298, V.F.W. Post 4237 Austintown, and the American Legion in Girard. Heserved with the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War, was a graduate of Pennsboro High School and a former member of Mahoning Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Martha (Riggs) Rogers whom he married on December 24, 1956, sons Robert A. Rogers of Austintown, Bruce E. Rogers Jr. of Youngstown, daughter Kimberly Rogers of Austintown, brother Glenn L. Rogers of Pennsboro W. VA.,grandchildren Amy Jo Rogers, and Bruce E. Rogers III. He is preceded in death by his brother William Dale Rogers. Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
