LEAVITTSBURG: Bruce L. Parker, Sr., 72, passed away on August 4, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Bruce was born May 16, 1946 in Warren to Douglas A. Parker and Sarah (Marlowe) Kingsbury. He was a 1964 graduate of Lordstown High School. On January 8, 1966, Bruce was united in marriage to the former Helen Abel, who survives. Bruce proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era; serving on the USS Grand Canyon. Following his discharge, he spent his career working at Fisher Body as a WEMR and volunteering on the fire brigade, retiring in 2001. Bruce was active in his community spending 20 years as a volunteer fireman and EMT for Warren Township Station 47. He also worked as the mechanic for the volunteer department. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Carroll F. Clepp #655 and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #688. Bruce was a HAM radio operator, CB enthusiast known by his call name "Tire Patch", enjoyed camping, and also a self-proclaimed "Shade Tree Mechanic". Most importantly, Bruce was a father, brother, mentor and friend. He will be greatly missed. Those who knew him knew, "He tried". Visitation for Bruce will be held on Tuesday August 7, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes; Roberts-Clark Chapel; 180 Garfield Rd NE, Warren. Visitation will continue on Wednesday August 8, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with both Masonic and Military Services. Besides his wife, Bruce is survived by his sons Bruce L. (Renee) Parker, Jr. and Todd (Andrea) Parker, his grandchildren Emily (JD) Smith and Thomas Parker, his great-grandchildren Aaron Ryan and Gabriel Smith and his brothers Eric, Phillip and Kevin Kingsbury as well as many other relatives and friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his step father William Kingsbury, his brother Grae Kingsbury and his granddaughter Tiffany Parker.
