Candace A. Root, 67 Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Evangel Baptist Church, 5248 Southern Blvd, Boardman for Candace A. Root, 67 of Boardman who died early Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngtown. Candace was born October 9, 1950 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Thomas and Evelyn (Niles) Little and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1969 and received her nuring degree in 1972 fron the Akron School of Nursing. Candace was a nurse in the surgical recovery room at Northside Medical Center for over 40 years. She was the secretary/bookkeeper for the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association and attended Evangel Baptist Church. She volunteered at the church for the food pantry, vacation bible school and the church carnivals. Candace enjoyed camping and doing water aerobics at the Ursuline Mother House. She leaves her husband, Eugene Root, whom she married April 1, 1978 and a daughter, Sarah Root of Austintown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Little. Friends may call at Lane Family Funeral Homes, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown Chapel on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Evangel Baptist Church.
