Carl "Bill" Rudy

Cortland- Carl W. "Bill" Rudy, age 62, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Continuing Health Care at the Ridge after a courageous battle with dementia. Bill was born October 5, 1956 in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan and moved to the Cortland area as a child. Bill was a 1975 Graduate of Lakeview High School. He received his associates degree from Youngstown State University. Bill retired from the Albert Guarneri & Company in Warren after many years of service. He was a proud member of the First Church of God in Cortland where he served as an elder for several years. Bill enjoyed traveling and reading. His family was paramount, but his love for The Ohio State University football was a close second. He is preceded in death by his father Carl V. Rudy, sister Melissa Rudy, and step brother Robert Waldeck. Bill is survived by his mother Mary Waldeck, his sister Cheryl Glatz, his brother Edward Rudy, step-sister Linda Dann, step-brother Eugene Waldeck, niece Marissa Glatz and nephew Jeremy Rudy. Friends may call 4-7PM Friday, December 14th at the Lane Funeral Home, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St. in Cortland.
