Carol Elaine Egolf Bailey, 80 Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 14th at Evangel Baptist Church, 5248 Southern Blvd., Boardman for Carol Elaine Egolf Bailey who passed away peacefully Tuesday evening at Assumption Village with her loving family by her side. Carol was born May 1, 1937 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late H. Edward and Reva Grace (Carder) Egolf and was a lifetime area resident. She graduated from South High School in 1955 and went to work for the General Fireproofing Company until becoming a stay-at-home-mom. Carol returned to work at the Dusi Music Company after her children started school. She later worked for the Mahoning County Job and Family Services where she had worked 15 years, before retiring in 2000. Carol attended Evangel Baptist Church where she dedicated her time to helping with the food pantry, the nursery and she also helped her friends at the Mt. Olivet Church with the rummage sales. She loved traveling with her many friends, especially to various casinos, walking with friends at the mall and going to garage sales. Carol was a loving wife to her husband Gene for 47 years whom preceded her in death; a wonderful mother to her son, Scott Bailey and her daughter, Caryn (Anthony) Pantaleo and a special grandmother to Raymond (Kara Mellott) Wolfgang, Anthony (AJ) Pantaleo and Gabriella Pantaleo. Carol also leaves her sister, Peggie Richards; a brother-in-law, William Bailey; three nieces, Lynda (Kevin) Hawkins, Lori (Dennis) McClary, Lisa (Bobby) Rohrman; two nephews, Gary (Betsy) Egolf and Daryl Egolf and all of their children who were always so loving and kind to her. She also leaves her special friend, Dick Adkins that made her last seven years joyous and happy. Besides her parents and her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Egolf; brother-in-law, Jack Richards and a nephew, Eddie Egolf and a great niece, Jessica LaCivita. Carol was always a great friend to all who knew her. She fought a courageous battle, but the Good Lord had other plans for her. Life will not be the same without her, but we know she will be rejoicing in Heaven with all of her family. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. The family would like to give special thanks to Assumption Village and their wonderful staff that were so caring and good. They would also like to thank the staff at Hospice who were so helpful. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the Evangel Baptist Church Positive Impact Food Pantry. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Anstrom Chapel, Boardman.
