Carol Jean Manning

Carol Jean Manning, 65, passed away early Monday evening, April 6, 2020 at Caprice Health Care Center. Carol was born June 9, 1954 in Youngstown the daughter of the late William and Martha (Hack) Cupp. She was a graduate of Chaney High School, class of 1972 and graduated from Choffin Career Center in 1975 with a degree in nursing. Carol was an LPN with St. Elizabeth Hospital for many years and also multiple nursing homes in Mahoning county. Carol took great pride in being a nurse. She cared for her patients and residents like they were her own loved one. Carol enjoyed inviting friends and family over whether it was to watch the Steelers play on Sundays or cookouts in the summer. Her husband James Edward Manning, whom she married April 19, 1975, passed away February 15, 2020. Carol leaves two children, Kelley Manning and Rick Manning both of Austintown, her beloved granddaughter Aveleen, four brothers, Joseph Cupp, Bill (Terri) Cupp, Rich Cupp, and James Cupp, five sisters Marcia (Don) Brunetti, Elaine (Ken) Linden, Jeanette Jaffee, Lorraine (Larry) Sebben, and Susan Lipkovich, one sister-in-law, Deborah Bish, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Jankowski, and Catherine Cupp, as well as a niece Christina Bish. A memorial service celebrating Carol’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to help with funeral expenses. The family would like to give a special thanks to Caprice Health Center and Crossroads Hospice for taking great care of Carol in her time of need.
