Youngstown- Carol Yvonne Savage, 87 of Austintown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 21st, 2024 at the Victoria House in Austintown.
Carol was born October 29, 1936, in Indian Head, Pennsylvania to Earl and Luella (Miller) Davis.
Carol was a 1954 graduate of Connellsville High School. She married Bernard Savage on October 26th, 1963 and together they had two children, Julie and Alan. They moved to Austintown, Ohio from Indian Head, Pennsylvania in the summer of 1966 as a family when Bernard accepted a position at General Motors. Carol was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed providing for her family at home.
Carol was a proud member of Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church and Austintown Senior Center. At the church, Carol enjoyed quilting, line dancing with fellow members, and King’s Kids. Carol loved following her routine of watching the news at 6 pm followed by her favorite shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She kept her mind sharp by enjoying crossword puzzles and sudoku. Although, what Carol loved most was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her children, Julie Patterson (Ray Miller) of Austintown, Ohio and Alan Savage (Sharon) of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren Jessica Blakeslee (Andy) of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Justin Patterson (Seyma) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jacalyn Hanshaw (Chance) of Austintown, Ohio, and Jordyn Patterson (Bill Burns) of New Middleton, Ohio and five great-grandchildren; Vivien, Wyatt, Hudson, Isabella, and Aubriella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers, Wendell and Everett Davis.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 pm on Sunday, July 28th at the Lane Family Funeral Home Chapel in Austintown, Ohio, and from 10-11 am on Monday, July 29th at Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 2432 S. Racoon Road, Youngstown, Ohio 44511. Services will be held at 11 am, at the church, with Pastor Rick Stauffer. Interment will follow to Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield, Ohio.
