Caroline Uhlir Foskie

Caroline Uhlir Foskie, age 86 of Howland Township, died at 7 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. She was born March 26, 1924 in Warren, the daughter of the late Leopold F. "Leo" and Mary E. Karemaensky Uhlir. She was a lifetime Trumbull county resident. Caroline was a 1942 graduate of Villa Maria High School in Pennsylvania. She began her working career at Sunlite Electric and retired in 1982 after 22 years service with Howland Local Schools, where she worked in the administrative office as a receptionist and telephone operator. Caroline was a charter member of Blessed Sacrament Church, a charter member of Hillside Mothers CCL, served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for Troop 37 from 1955-60 and was an active member of the Howland Schools Retirees where she had served as chairman of the Sunshine committee. Caroline enjoyed flower gardening and arranging, crocheting, crafts and reading. She loved all types of dancing, especially tap, ballroom and ballet. She is survived by two daughters, Pat (Richard) Fuller of Warren and Nancy Canazaro of Ft. Lauderdale; one son, David P. (Danielle) Foskie of Cortland; three grandchildren, David Michael (Robin) Holmes of Lexington, SC, Jennifer Lynn and Michelle Dominique Canazaro both of Ft. Lauderdale; two great grandchildren, Alex and Katherine Holmes; two brothers, Norman F. (Jeannie) Uhlir of Sedona, Ariz. and Raymond K. (Nancy Leanne) Uhlir of Warren and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Uhlir of Warren. Her husband, George A. Foskie, whom she married April 19, 1947, preceded in death Dec. 9, 1996. One brother, Leo E. Uhlir and one sister, Marianne E. Uhlir both preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren,. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 a.m. Monday with Rev. Thomas Eisweirth celebrating the mass. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta. Memorial contributions may be made to the Society for the Blind or the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Building Fund.
