A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Monday in St. Matthias Church for Carolyn Ann "Toots" Creighton, 72, of Austintown who passed away Wednesday at her home. Toots was born August 31, 1935 in Niles, the daughter of John Sr. and Helen (Peto) Sabatos. She was the owner and operator of the Ice Cream Barn until her retirement in 1997. After her retirement she helped in the offices of the Austintown Dairy as a clerk. Toots was a graduate of Chaney High School class of 1956, member of the church, and a member of the Kiwanis Queens. She was a former member of the American Sewing Guild. Toots also enjoyed traveling, but most of all she loved the time she spent with her family, especially her four grandchildren. Her husband James Creighton, whom she married June 14, 1963, passed away March 22, 1990. Toots leaves three children; Joe (Stephanie) Creighton of Canfield, Carol Ann (Mohammed) Alghnaimat with whom she made her home, and Thomas (Jacqueline) Creighton of Springfield, as well as four grandchildren; James, Taylor, Catherine, and Caralyn. Besides her husband and parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by one brother; John Sabatos. Family and friends may call from 1 to 4 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Closing prayers will be held Monday morning at 9:15 AM.
